After the long wait, I was finally able to start playing. I sat in the low-lying chairs at Table 49, and then I had to wait another 20 minutes until the stupid announcers says everyone was there. Then came the battle. If I could summarized how it went in one picture:

The Pokemon he showed before battling looked like an anti-Trick Room team, so I decided to not bring out Reuniclus and Ferrothorn. HUUUUGE mistake. He completely swept my whole team of Pokemon in 4 turns flat with Archeops and Mineshao: I was almost able to knock out his Mineshao but it had a Focus Sash. Yeah... I was definitely faced against one of the trickiest people first.
After my crushing defeat, I decided to play some of the King of the Hill matches on the sidelines. You could use any 6 Generation Pokemon, and if you won 3 matches, you became the King of that set. I decided to use my tournament team.
The first round I was faced against a person who had no idea about any type matchups and tried to use his Rayquaza's Extremespeed AGAINST MY CHANDELURE. He was way too easy.
The second person I faced was a cute girl dressed up as an Audino. She put up a good match but my Haxorus' Flinch-spam was able to beat her. I was able to snap a picture of her cute costume after the battle:
:3
The third person put up a good match. He had a lot of amazing Pokemon like Conkeldurr and Hydreigon. The last round we all each had one Pokemon left, but my Shiny Galvantula was able to pull through and win it all. I honestly had more fun with these matches than the actual VGCs, because I saw a better variety of Pokemon then just Tornadus and Terrakion.
The next two hours I went around, facing random people. I teamed up with this guy against two other men in an epic Multi Battle; but unfortunately the battle ended because of a connection error. I also took an awesome picture with Mr. Oshawott:
After that I entered a special Battle Test with a bunch of tough, pre-set Pokemon. I only got 4000 points, nowhere near the day's record of over 6800 points. After that I decided my day was done and I left with my dad to go home.
Overall, I had a lot of fun. Even though I had an early loss, I was able to communicate with fellow Pokemon fans like me, and those kinds of people are a huge rarity around where I live. I'm definitely going to do this again next year :)
